Jens Schmelzle is co-founder of Fryd. The community-based app helps gardeners grow vegetables organically. The team decided to take the path to steward.ownership in 2021 to put social and environmental sustainability at the center of everything they do – instead of striving for an exit. Fryd is meant to be steward-owned and not for sale. Jens Schmelzle has been active in the start-up scene for 15 years as a founder (including simpleshow), business angel (including Partners in Clime), mentor (including Gründermotor) and state spokesperson in Baden-Wuerttemberg for the start-up association.
