Jan Bohl is an entrepreneur and angel investor based in Berlin. He graduated in Business Administration from both ESCP Paris and Technical University of Berlin. Jan started his career as a management consultant in the media practice group with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Since 2000 he is co-owner and CFO/COO of Ableton, an internationally renowned maker of music software having offices in Berlin and Los Angeles. Since Ableton’s foundation more than 1.7 million musicians, DJs, and sound designers have used one of Ableton’s software programs. Ableton has been nominated several times in the German Technology Fast 50 ranking of Deloitte in which the fastest growing technology companies are listed in. Jan built up the commercial organization of Ableton and has successfully led this division since 2000. Next to the established software business Ableton released its first hardware product called PUSH in March 2013. By entering the hardware market Ableton expects to significantly increase its market share in the computer-based music production market in the coming years. Besides his role within Ableton Jan Bohl has been a mentor and coach to founders and managers of startup businesses, especially in the area of technology/Internet. Jan is an active business angel investor.
