Since April 2025, Esra Limbacher has been Deputy Chair of the SPD parliamentary group. In this role, he is responsible for the areas of housing and construction, climate and environmental policy, as well as agriculture, food, and homeland affairs for the SPD in the German Parliament. He has been a Member of the Bundestag since the 2021 federal election. From 2021 to 2025, he served as a full member of both the Committee on Economic Affairs and the Committee on Legal Affairs. From 2022 to 2025, he was the SPD parliamentary group’s Commissioner for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, overseeing the party’s SME policy in the Bundestag.
