Johannes Vogel was born in Wermelskirchen and is 39 years old. He studied politics, history and international law at the University of Bonn and graduated in 2009 with a Magister Artium. For five years he led the Young Liberals as federal chairman, from 2009 to 2013 he was a member of the German Bundestag and labor market policy spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group. Vogel has been General Secretary of the FDP NRW since 2014. After a short stay in Beijing, he went professionally to the Federal Employment Agency in 2014, where he most recently worked as managing director of the Wuppertal-Solingen employment agency. As General Secretary of the FDP NRW, he was primarily responsible for leading the successful election campaign of the Free Democrats in the 2017 state elections. Vogel is a member of the 20th German Bundestag. He has been Deputy Federal Chairman of the FDP since May 2021, and also First Parliamentary Secretary of the FDP parliamentary group since December 2021.
